"Death by Misadventure"

Everybody knows something someone else doesn't know.
So spoke the tongue into the telephone.
The ones with the best secrets — they know how to be alone.

The freeway can make you feel like a moving target.
The lights above the airport look like an invading army.
Looks like they’re taking aim here. What’s your tolerance for danger?
Went looking for Los Angeles. I went home with a stranger.

And in the labs they’re working on an antidote
to counteract the brutal underdose.
Vague and unconsidered, it’s death by misadventure.
There’s somewhere I’m expected. I should be working on the record.

Slipped backwards, upside down and splintered.
Missing appointments, skipping dinner.
They said the first thing you should know is square footage is irrelevant
‘cause this mess we’ve made is infinite.
This mess that we’ve made is infinite.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Joni Elfers at Curryland Studios in Pennsylvania.
